Here are some examples of compound sentences in Marathi, along with their English translations:

1. Marathi: मला अभ्यास करायचा आहे, पण मला झोप येत आहे.
   English: I want to study, but I am feeling sleepy.
2. Marathi: ती गाणे गाते आणि तो नाचतो.
   English: She sings and he dances.
3. Marathi: पाऊस पडत होता, म्हणून आम्ही घरी गेलो.
   English: It was raining, so we went home.
4. Marathi: तुम्ही चहा घ्याल की कॉफी?
   English: Will you have tea or coffee?
5. Marathi: त्याने खूप प्रयत्न केला, तरी तो अयशस्वी झाला.

A compound sentence in Marathi, like in English, consists of two or more independent clauses joined by a coordinating conjunction (and, but, or, so, yet, for, nor) or by a semicolon.
