Grapes are primarily sourced from other Indian states and, to a lesser extent, from local cultivation, to meet the demand in Kashmir. Key suppliers include:

• Maharashtra: This state is a major grape producer in India, known for varieties like Thompson Seedless, and supplies a significant portion of grapes across the country, including to Kashmir.
• Karnataka: Another significant grape-growing state in India.
• Andhra Pradesh and Telangana: These states also contribute to the national grape supply.

While some grapes are grown locally in Kashmir, especially in regions like Bandipora and Ganderbal, they are not sufficient to meet the entire demand, making imports from other states necessary.
