What is physics?
Physics is a natural science that studies matter, its motion, and behavior through space and time, and that studies the related entities of energy and force.
More broadly, it is the general analysis of nature, conducted in order to understand how the universe and everything in it behaves.
Physics is one of the most fundamental scientific disciplines, and its main goal is to understand how the universe works.
Physics also makes significant contributions through advances in new technologies that arise from theoretical breakthroughs.
For example, advances in the understanding of electromagnetism or nuclear physics led directly to the development of new products such as computers, television, domestic appliances, and nuclear weapons; advances in thermodynamics led to the development of industrialization; and advances in mechanics inspired the development of calculus.
Here are some main branches of physics:
- Classical Mechanics
- Thermodynamics
- Electromagnetism
- Relativistic Mechanics
- Quantum Mechanics
