My favorite festival is Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights. It is celebrated over five days, usually in October or November, and symbolizes the victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance. The festival is marked by lighting diyas (oil lamps) and candles, decorating homes with colorful rangoli patterns, offering prayers to deities, enjoying delicious sweets and savory dishes, and bursting firecrackers. The joyous atmosphere, the sense of community, and the beautiful illuminations make Diwali a truly special and uplifting experience.
