Based on historical accounts, the "Young Prince," also known as Charles Edward Stuart or Bonnie Prince Charlie, was never actually caught by British forces after the Battle of Culloden in 1746.
After his defeat, he spent several months as a fugitive in the Scottish Highlands, aided by loyal supporters who helped him evade capture. He eventually escaped to France.
- Escape and Evasion: Bonnie Prince Charlie was assisted by many Highlanders, most famously Flora MacDonald, who helped him evade government troops.
- Return to France: He successfully fled to France, where he lived in exile for the remainder of his life.
